Marigolds in the CT Scanner

In the radiology department of a hospital in India, a Western doctor is asked to participate in a ceremony of puja or blessing. The ceremony reawakens in him a new sense of gratitude for medical technology, which he's often taken for granted. The story can be used as an example of the different cultural attitudes towards health care and technology, and particularly the deeper spiritual meanings attached to technology in non-Western cultures.
