You can search the Hub three ways:
- SITE WIDE SEARCH: Look at the upper right of every page for the magnifying glass and “Search”. This will search for anything, anywhere on our site that has your words in it.
- JUST STORIES or JUST TEACHING MATERIALS: Look for the colored tabs at the top of every page and click “Stories” or “Teaching materials.” On those dedicated pages, you’ll find lots of options for searching by words or using tags.
- Too many results? Use the check box lists to narrow your search to include, for example, only items in Spanish or to search specifically for “poems.”
- Too few results? Try resetting the check boxes and search just for a word or tag.
- FIND MORE LIKE THIS ONE: If you find an item you love, be sure to click on the full display and look for the tags at the bottom. Clicking on one of those tags will search the whole site for anything else that has that same tag.
Tips for using tags:
We’ve developed tags to capture common topics of interest. You can consult a list of commonly occurring tags, grouped by topics such as “illness condition” or “type of storyteller” here at this INDEX.
Here is a list of the 50 most used tags:
12-step programs adolescent assisted death assisted living BIPOC BRCA2 burnout caregiver cerebral palsy clinical trial education ethics euthanasia exercise family caregiver family narrative genetic disease genetics genetic testing health advocacy heart attack heart disease history home care hospital humor Huntington’s disease insulin intersectionality legislation LGBTQ memory loss mental health motherhood Native American nonapparent disability open access opiod addiction organ donation ostomy overdose panic patient advocacy psychiatry reproductive health rural healthcare sexual assault speech therapy survivor’s guilt terminal illness
Serendipitous Scanning:
If you’d like to simply scan through what’s available in the Hub collection to see what might appear, you can go to the “Stories” or “Teaching Materials” pages and press “Search” without giving any key words or tags, or checking any boxes. That will produce a list of everything we have! You could narrow things a little by checking a box or two.
We welcome your feedback!
